Kate's Nursery

I have been waiting to post about Kate's nursery because I wanted it to be completely finished before I did.  However, I have come to the realization that may never happen, so here is her nursery as it stands today.  I still need to hang the art on the wall above the crib, and I have big plans to make a mobile, a couple of blankets and crib sheets that coordinate with her room.  Hopefully that all gets done someday, but I'm not holding my breath.  I absolutely love everything about this room.  We planned the entire thing around the elephant fabric I found on spoonflower.com.  I made the crib skirt, the curtains and the changing pad cover.  The paint color is "robin's nest" by Benjamin Moore.  The dresser/changing table was a Craig's List find that we painted "Galapagos green" by Benjamin Moore.  The rocker and ottoman came from Kevin's grandmother, and the cushions were made by my very talented aunt.  The quilt was also a gift from the same aunt.  I hope it is a room Kate will enjoy for the next few years anyway, now we just have to get her to start sleeping in here!

This art will eventually be hung on the wall, along with wooden letter's spelling out her name.  I haven't decided what configuration I want yet, so they are still just propped on the crib.
At least she seems to enjoy her crib while she is awake

 The dogs approve as well

Many firsts and Meeting family and friends

We had such a wonderful visit while home in Pennsylvania.  Kate got to experience many things for the first time and to meet so many important people!

There's something about living away from home that makes you realize how much you appreciate certain things about that area.  We love living in central New York, but I definitely miss my family, friends, Wawa, Capriottis and our favorite hiking spots .. Fair Hill and White Clay.  Whenever I come home for a visit, I try to see as many people as possible and do as much as possible.  I loved being able to expose Kate to all that I love.

We took a few hikes at Fair Hill with the dogs, Kate still loves being in the Moby.
We got ice cream at The Creamery ..
We got apple cider donuts and picked out pumpkins at Milburn Orchards with Aunt Becca and her friend Jenn.

Kate met three out of her 4 great-grandmothers

Uncle Harley and Aunt Stephanie's wedding!

At the end of October, we traveled back to PA and DE for my brother's wedding and to visit family and friends.  Kate was fantastic in the car and slept the entire way, both there and back.  We stopped mid-way at a rest stop on 476 to feed her and go to the bathroom, and that was the only break she needed.  I am so relieved that we can successfully make that trip with both dogs and Kate without any issues!

Harley and Stephanie's wedding was perfect in every way.  I am so happy all three of us could be a part of their day.  Their rehearsal dinner fell on Halloween, so they had a costume party!  We were Monster's Inc. characters.
The bride and groom were "Jack and Jill"

Kate spent the day with the girls getting ready, and was a saint the whole day!

Mommy and Aunt Becca before the ceremony

The ceremony was outside under a tree, everything about it was perfect.  The setting was gorgeous and they lucked out with the weather .. 75 and sunny on November 1st!

Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of the reception, or of the incredibly beautiful decorations they did all by themselves.  It was a truly beautiful wedding, and we are so happy to have Stephanie officially a part of our family!
