Vacation Day Trips

We took two mini trips while on our week long vacation last week, the first being an overnight with Juliana in Rehoboth.  Kevin has been wanting to go to the beach since he started residency in July, so it was an absolute requirement to make it down while we were home.  We had a wonderful short visit, and thanks to Juls for coming with us, and letting us stay at her house!  We spent the majority of the day reading on the beach, had a wonderful Capriottis lunch (another absolute requirement on a trip home) and got a special behind the scenes tour of Dogfish Head Brewery by Clay, a brewer there.

Cloudy Beach Day:

It would be funnier not to explain this photo, but he was keeping the rain off of his face (it was misting).  Also note, he is wearing his Falgowski Crabbing shirt ... coincidence for a day at the beach?  I think not.
 Dogfish Head Brewery:
Definitely a cool place to visit.  They offer tours Tuesday-Saturday (you need tickets in advance, but they're free!)  We got a special tour on Monday because we have connections. :)
After our tour Clay joined us for 1/2 price sushi Happy Hour at Stingray (another favorite spot) and then drinks at the Dogfish Head Restaurant in downtown Rehoboth.  I was so excited that my two favorite Dogfish brews were on tap; Punkin Ale and Pangea.  We had a great time!

Another wonderful day on our vacation last week was spent in Rock Hall, MD on the Eastern Shore.  Kevin decided that he wanted to do something just the two of us for a day and he came up with a day trip to Rock Hall.  He didn't realize that I had gone to Rock Hall for vacation two years in a row when we were 6 or 7 (I think), so I was thrilled to get a chance to go back.  We visited Eastern Neck Wildlife refuge and had a wonderful time walking around, viewing the bay and visiting the butterfly garden.

We actually saw a bald eagle from this point ... pretty cool.
After walking around the wildlife refuge, we spent some time driving around the Eastern Shore, looking at beautiful Bay Homes, dreaming about one that we'll be able to buy some day.  Our last stop was for crabs at Waterman's Crabhouse.  The last crabs for us of the season!  They were a little pricey but good.  We had a great time, and I am sure that Rock Hall is an awesome place to visit in the height of summer, lots of boating, fishing, shopping, walking and biking to do.
